RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Yard Hostler is responsible for ensuring that trailers are moved within our yard in a safe and efficient manner by utilizing a Terminal Tractor. The Yard Hostler is also responsible for yard management, good housekeeping, and ensuring that yard rules and standards are being adhered to.
QUALIFICATIONS- Minimum of one year of Yard Hostler operation experience (preferred)
- Prior exposure to CPG and/or Food & Beverage industries (preferred)
- Able to demonstrate decision making and problem‑solving skills
- Basic understanding of computer systems and/or warehouse management (WM) systems
- Fluent in English; additional language skills beneficial
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, reach, and climb steps and/or ladders; perform necessary actions for the role
- Occasionally lift, move, and place up to 75 pounds
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, varying temperature, and weather conditions
- Ability to be certified for and responsibly operate Terminal Tractor, Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) – e.g., forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and/or other equipment within the facility
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and procedures
- At least 18 years old
- Ability to demonstrate verbal and written communication skills
- Has an active driver’s license and clean driving record
Shift Rotation – Weekday Night:
Week 1:
Monday – Thursday 5pm – 5am
Week 2:
Monday – Wednesday 5pm – 5am
Compensation:
Base $21.00 per hour; shift differential $1; 5% target quarterly bonus. Base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
