Airport Operations Manager - DOT
The Operations Manager DOT is responsible for overseeing all aspects of field operations, including leading the operations team, coordinating with airlines and airport authorities, and ensuring the implementation of operational procedures and policies. In addition to managing day-to-day operations, this role is key in crisis management, handling emergencies and disruptions in close collaboration with senior leadership. Continuous analysis and improvement of operational processes to increase overall efficiency.
Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations of the airport service team, coordinating with various departments to ensure smooth and efficient airport operations, implementing operational policies and procedures in line with company objectives and industry standards, ensuring compliance with all DOT regulations and guidelines, conducting regular audits and inspections to verify adherence to DOT standards, managing staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations, ensuring compliance with aviation regulations and safety protocols, monitoring operational performance and implementing strategies to improve productivity and service quality, liaising with airlines, airport authorities, and external stakeholders, addressing and resolving operational issues and passenger complaints, overseeing the maintenance and servicing of airport equipment and facilities, managing budgeting and resource allocation for operational needs, developing and maintaining emergency response plans and procedures, analyzing data and reports to identify trends and areas for improvement, leading and motivating staff to achieve operational excellence, staying updated with the latest trends and developments in the aviation industry, providing regular operational reports and feedback to senior management, and performing any additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications include being 18 years of age or older, eligible to work in the United States, able to work in office, onsite, Monday-Friday, having 5 years of leadership/operational experience, being an established leader in managing large teams, having project management experience, in-depth knowledge of airport operational procedures and regulatory requirements, strong leadership and team management skills, having a valid state-issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record, communicating effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking), effectively communicating with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means, ability to pass a DOT background check and drug screen, travel requirement >75% travel between airport stations and for meetings, and being flexible to work extended hours on occasion to support our field operations.
