Import​/Export Associate

Job Summary:

As an Import Export Associate, you will be responsible for coordinating the transportation of goods both domestically and overseas. Your duties will include:

Planning and directing the flow of air and surface traffic to overseas destinations

Receiving and shipping freight, assessing charges, and collecting fees for shipments

Negotiating with domestic customers on behalf of foreign customers to resolve problems and arrive at mutual agreements

Negotiating reciprocal freight handling agreements with foreign shipping interests

Examining invoices and shipping manifests for compliance with customs regulations

Contacting customs officials to effect release of incoming freight and resolve customs delays

Preparing reports of transactions to facilitate billing of shippers and foreign carriers

Duties/Responsibilities:

Education and Experience:

Associates degree from college or technical school preferred.

At least 2-4 years of import / export experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands to operate a computer and telephone. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
