The shift for this role is Friday through Monday, 6:00am-5:00pm.
The Team Lead has general responsibility for coordinating and overseeing all operational activities assigned daily. Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, the Team Lead oversees associates dedicated to warehousing, receiving, and shipping of product in their area in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives.
Associates are expected to meet company objectives in performance, safety, and quality. They must comply with all corporate and site‑specific policies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Training Responsibilities:
- Mentor and train new and existing associates in distribution activities to meet customer demands.
- Train associates on current Standard Operating Procedures for shipping, receiving, picking, and quality control.
- Assist with forklift operation and certification.
- Shipping/Receiving Responsibilities:
- Oversee unloading of inbound shipments, stacking of product, and picking/staging of outbound shipments for maximum productivity.
- Verify required inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers and ensure proper counting.
- Efficiently and accurately load orders onto appropriate doors and trailers.
- Investigate and resolve shipping/receiving discrepancies.
- Customer Service:
- Conduct yourself professionally in appearance and communication.
- Communicate with customers by phone, email, or in person.
- Prepare activity reports accurately for site management.
- Quality Control Responsibilities:
- Use documentation to ensure products/orders are received, shipped, and picked correctly.
- Verify product quality, report damages or discrepancies, and manage packaging tasks.
- Manage team adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Report inconsistencies to the Operations Supervisor or Manager and participate in quality meetings.
- Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance:
- Comply with ISO standards, safety protocols, and OSHA/MSDS standards.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and assist in security.
- Participate in safety and quality meetings.
- Labor Management:
- Direct warehouse work to meet objectives.
- Assist associates with productivity sheets and payroll hour capture.
- Maintain workforce productivity and support scheduling.
- Equipment Operation:
- Operate sit‑down, stand‑up, reach truck, sweeper scrubber, scissor lift, cherry picker, Aisle Master, or pallet jack.
- Perform daily forklift or equipment inspections and minor maintenance.
- Maintain active forklift certification.
- Other Duties:
- Perform clerical and administrative tasks as directed.
- Work evenings, weekends, and overtime as required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1 year experience in logistics, distribution, or a related environment.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment.
- Can work in a warehouse environment with temperature variations.
- 2-4 years of experience in warehouse/logistics/distribution.
- 2-4 years of forklift experience.
- Current or prior MHE certification.
- Occasional handling of 21-50 pounds.
- Frequent bending, walking, standing, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to reach above shoulder and reach outward.
Low to moderate noise levels. Minimal exposure to fumes, airborne particles, or chemicals.
