Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator with a strong roofing background to join our commercial team.

Working with major house builders, local authorities, housing associations, and principal contractors, we specialise in both pitched and flat roofing systems on new build, refurbishment, and planned maintenance projects.

Opportunity to work on prestigious roofing projects across London and the South East Bedfordshire The  Role This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with proven experience in roofing estimating and quantity surveying. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate tenders, carrying out take-offs from drawings, managing project costs, and supporting the commercial delivery of roofing projects.

Key Responsibilities Producing detailed estimates and tender submissions for pitched and flat roofing projects.

Carrying out material take-offs from drawings and specifications using estimating software.

Reviewing tender documentation, specifications, and construction drawings.

Preparing bills of quantities and pricing schedules.

Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations.

Managing project costs and valuations throughout the lifecycle of projects.

Identifying variations and preparing associated quotations.

Liaising with clients, suppliers, contracts managers, and site teams.

Assisting with procurement and commercial reporting.

Supporting the preparation of final accounts.

Essential Requirements Proven experience as a Roofing Quantity Surveyor and/or Estimator. Strong knowledge of pitched roofing and flat roofing systems. Experience carrying out take-offs from drawings using estimating software. Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications. Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail. Strong Microsoft Excel and computer skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tenders simultaneously. Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable Experience using Rapid Quote, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or similar take-off software.

Experience working with major house builders, housing associations, or local authorities.

Knowledge of Bauder, Langley, Marley, Redland, and other leading roofing systems.

Relevant construction or surveying qualifications.

Working With NHF Schedules and basket rate projects
