Youth Development, Life Skills Coach/Career Advisor
Young students may not recall every lesson, but they will always remember the adult who truly believed in them. That is the essence of this role.
At Alpha, academic work is completed in only two hours each day through adaptive learning technology. This structure allows Guides to dedicate their energy to life‑changing work: cultivating confidence, resilience, communication skills, and the drive to embrace difficult challenges. You will not stand at the front of a classroom delivering lectures. Instead, you will coach students through obstacles, recognize their achievements, and demonstrate what rigorous standards look like when combined with authentic encouragement.
You will oversee one K‑3 cohort band—either Kindergarten‑1st grade or 2nd‑3rd grade. Half of your day involves facilitating dynamic, one‑hour workshops focused on essential life skills such as public speaking, concentration, and giving and receiving feedback. The remaining half is dedicated to coaching students individually and in small groups, leveraging learning analytics to ensure every child progresses toward ambitious weekly objectives.
Each moment counts. Students should emerge from your workshops more skilled than when they entered and leave coaching sessions with greater belief in their own potential.
This position is not suited for someone seeking to deliver standard curriculum or oversee traditional classroom management. It is designed for someone who is passionate about motivating young learners, excels with measurable results, and is convinced that the right coach can fundamentally alter a child's future. If you have inspired children as a teacher, coach, camp counselor, youth leader, or performer, you will discover a distinctly different kind of educational environment here.
This is a full‑time, on‑site position at one of Alpha's campuses. We recruit nationally, so job boards may list this opportunity in nearby cities that do not currently host a campus.
Current openings for this salary tier are available in Scottsdale, AZ;
Oklahoma City and Tulsa, OK;

Austin, Georgetown, Dallas, Plano, Fort Worth, and Houston, TX; and Park City (Salt Lake City area), UT.

What You Will Be Doing- Facilitate engaging life‑skills workshops that enable K‑3 students to develop communication, focus, feedback, and other foundational skills through active involvement rather than passive listening.

Pass framework, guiding students until they exhibit genuine mastery—not merely attendance. - Tailor your coaching approach to match the developmental stage of your cohort, incorporating songs, movement, and narratives for younger children or emphasizing greater autonomy and responsibility for older students.

- Reducing expectations when students face difficulties. Success is achieved by helping students meet the standard, not by adjusting the standard downward.
- Overseeing homework, grading assignments, or handling everyday parent communication.
