Description
  • Responsible for counting and balancing all currency/coins received from various live games, slot bill validators and Kiosks
  • Assist Supervisor with sorts, counts, and records contents of table game drop boxes, kiosks and
    currency drop boxes, according to set procedures
  • Maintains a thorough, working knowledge of laws, rules and regulations of the Gaming Commission, as well as company policies, procedures and controls
  • Oversees and records drop collection process and counting money
  • Maintains all records, reports and other required paperwork related to the Soft Count Department.
  • Responsible for the transportation of departmental wheeled carts to and from secured locations
  • Performs related work as required or assigned
  • All other duties as assigned

  • Strong cash handling and fast counting skills
  • Must have proficient basic math skills

AGE and CERTIFICATIONS

21 years of age or above

EDUCATION and/or

EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or equivalent required, minimum six (6) months cash handling experience preferred, ideally in the casino or banking industry

LANGUAGE

SKILLS:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English with the ability to read and understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply commonsense reasoning to a variety of situations. Requires the ability to understand and follow policies and standard operating procedures and be adept and proactive in problem solving. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

The employee is regularly required to sit or stand, for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

Duties and responsibilities are typically performed in the back of house of the casino, which ranges from moderate to loud. Counting occurs in an isolated area away from casino floor. Fast-paced environment while adhering to strict guidelines and controls. The casino floor environment is loud and will subject Employee to tobacco smoke.

Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, Employees must be able to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property. Count team shifts typically begin in the early morning hours.
