MRI Imaging / Clerical Assistant - Full-Time
Responsibilities include specific knowledge of MRI safety concerns and emergency procedures, adherence to MRI safety practices ensuring patient and staff safety within the MRI suite at all times. As MRI patient schedule permits, other duties may be assigned within radiology department including but not limited to, patient transport, flow through, reception and clerical duties. Play a key role in supporting the radiology team by ensuring a smooth and patient-centered imaging experience.
This position is responsible for greeting and escorting patients within the imaging department, verifying demographic and exam information in electronic medical records, and preparing patients for imaging procedures, including assisting with proper attire and positioning on equipment. Additional responsibilities include preparing and sanitizing work areas, stocking rooms daily, and collaborating closely with technologists to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Greet and escort patients within the imaging department or from the physician station if needed for another x‑ray.
- Enter and/or verify patients’ demographics and history of exams ordered into databases and electronic medical records.
- Ensure patients are ready for imaging exams including proper attire and assist patients onto radiology equipment as needed.
- Remove a splint or cast from a patient if needed.
- Communicate with patients and family regarding wait times and frequently check on the comfort of patients.
- Use electronic medical records and imaging systems, paying close attention to exam details.
- Prepare radiology department daily including cleaning, stocking, and sanitizing work areas and equipment.
- Stock imaging rooms daily.
- Communicate and perform as a team with your technologist(s) to ensure quality patient care.
Education/Licensing:
High School Diploma/GED;
Knowledge of customer services principles and practices.
Experience:
Using computer systems and applications, including entering data and typing. Experience in a related position within hospital or clinic setting.
High School or better.
