Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Bookkeeper / Staff Accountant with prior CPA firm experience and advanced proficiency in Quick Books Desktop and Quick Books Online. This role supports multiple clients across a variety of industries and requires strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
+ Perform bank and credit card reconciliations, detailed account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations for multiple clients
+ Deliver full-cycle bookkeeping services, including:
+ Downloading and categorizing transactions in Quick Books
+ Creating and maintaining bank rules for efficiency and accuracy
+ Preparing and posting journal entries and general ledger adjustments
+ Support month-end close processes and maintain accurate financial records
+ Assist with payroll processing, including:
+ Reviewing client payroll reports
+ Recording payroll entries in Quick Books for in-house processed payroll
+ Prepare financial reports to support client decision-making
+ Generate and assist with specialty reports, including:
+ Property tax renditions
+ Commercial insurance audit reports
+ Sales tax reporting and filings
+ Maintain and track accounts receivable and client billing, including:
+ Preparing monthly client invoices
+ Monitoring outstanding receivables
+ Support tax preparation processes, including:
+ Entering 1040 client data into systems (e.g., Access)
+ Tracking return status and following up on missing documentation
+ Preparing 1099s and assisting with tax compliance
+ Organize and maintain client records and documentation
+ Track and report time entries for billing purposes
Required Qualifications
+
Required:
Prior experience working in a CPA firm environment
+
Required:
Strong proficiency in both Quick Books Desktop and Quick Books Online (Advisor/Trainer level preferred)
+ Solid understanding of GAAP and double-entry accounting principles
+
Experience with :
+ Bank reconciliations
+ General ledger accounting
+ Journal entries
+ Accounts payable/receivable
+ Month-end close
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
+ Strong data entry skills (10-key proficiency preferred)
+ High attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
+
Experience with tax filings and compliance
+ Familiarity with Access and Outlook
+ Experience handling multi-client workloads
Additional Requirements
+ Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
+ Strong organizational and communication skills
+ Willingness to assist with filing and handling physical documents as needed

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesquite, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
