Accountant I, Accounting

Job Summary:

A highly motivated Accountant I is sought to support manufacturing operations within a rapidly expanding renewable energy environment. This role will play a critical part in financial reporting, cost accounting, and operational support, contributing to improved efficiency and accuracy across solar manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities include:

* Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for manufacturing operations

* Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements

* Support cost accounting, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis (labor, materials, and overhead)

* Partner closely with plant operations to analyze production performance and identify cost-saving opportunities

* Monitor inventory transactions and cycle counts, ensuring accurate reporting of raw materials and finished goods

* Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and corporate policies

* Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities

* Support internal and external audits, including SOX compliance (if applicable)

* Drive process improvements and automation initiatives within accounting workflows

* Provide financial insights to support operational and strategic decision-making

* Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline

* Minimum of 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment

* Demonstrated knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management

* Experience working with ERP systems; SAP experience preferred

* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and data analysis

* Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards

* CPA or CMA designation preferred

* Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer

* Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, filing, and operating office equipment

* Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching

* Ability to lift and carry light office materials (up to 10-15 lbs.), such as files or office supplies

* Visual acuity to read computer screens, documents, and reports

* Ability to attend meetings and interact with employees, customers, and vendors
