Why This Role Matters
The Part‑Time Substitute Teacher is essential in maintaining high‑quality learning environments across Child Care Group centers. This role provides support as needed in multiple classrooms, ensuring continuity of care and instruction when permanent teachers are absent. Substitute Teachers create nurturing, safe, and developmentally appropriate environments while upholding CCG, NAEYC, Head Start, and state licensing standards. This flexible and dynamic role directly supports children's growth and enhances classroom operations.
What You'll Do
* Assist with planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities aligned with RC3, including curriculum support and basic child assessment tasks.
* Learn routines and support multiple classrooms by helping with daily setup, maintaining functional learning centers, and assisting with classroom transitions.
* Provide classroom coverage in the Teacher's absence while maintaining a safe, engaging, and well‑organized learning environment.
* Build positive relationships with children and families, participate in conferences/meetings, and collaborate as an active team member.
* Learn required data systems (training provided) and assist with inventory, supplies, and other classroom needs.
What You Bring
* High school diploma or equivalent; at least 6 months of experience working with young children (1 year preferred).
* Desire to work with young children and knowledge of typical early childhood growth and development.
* Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Ability to collaborate with staff, parents, and volunteers while maintaining professionalism and reliability.
* Commitment to CCG's mission, vision, core values, and consistent, punctual attendance.
