Operations Manager, Mechanical Engineer
BW Industrial Construction is seeking an experienced Mechanical Superintendent (Independent Contractor) to oversee mechanical installation, equipment setting, and piping activities for industrial construction projects including manufacturing plants, warehouses, and advanced manufacturing facilities. Work includes supervising mechanical trades, coordinating daily field operations, enforcing safety standards, and supporting schedule, quality, and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead mechanical installation, equipment setting, and piping activities
- Coordinate subcontractors, materials, inspections, and daily work plans
- Enforce safety standards and conduct jobsite audits
- Resolve field issues to prevent delays or cost impacts
- Maintain documentation, daily reports, and progress tracking
- Support communication with project managers, engineers, and client representatives
- 7+ years of mechanical construction experience (industrial construction experience required)
- Strong knowledge of piping, HVAC/mechanical systems, and equipment installation
- Ability to read drawings, manage crews, and coordinate field operations
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
- Valid driver’s license; ability to visit active industrial sites
- Full‑time on‑site presence
- Ability to access mechanical rooms and active construction areas
- Flexibility for extended hours during project milestones
- Ability to travel 100%; and work necessary hours to complete work
This is a 1099 independent contractor role, not a W‑2 employment position.
