Our school is seeking a dedicated, passionate, and experienced Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team. Our Lead Teachers play a vital role in creating a nurturing, engaging, and high-quality learning environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn.
Position OverviewThe Lead Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing a high-quality classroom program, maintaining a safe and organized learning environment, and building positive relationships with children, families, and team members. This role also includes mentoring assistant teachers and ensuring classroom practices align with licensing and school expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities
- Create a warm, engaging, and well-organized classroom environment
- Ensure active supervision and the health and safety of all children
- Observe, assess, and document children’s development and progress
- Communicate effectively and professionally with families
- Guide and support assistant teachers in daily classroom routines
- Maintain compliance with state licensing regulations and school policies
- Participate in ongoing professional development and staff meetings
- Current or willing to work towards a CDA or equivalent in education or a related field;
- 3+ years of experience as a 2 year old teacher or assistant teacher in an early childhood education;
- 3+ years total experience onsite in a Texas-licensed early education center;
- Demonstrated knowledge of Frog Street Curriculum, classroom preparation and management, and age-appropriate conscious discipline;
- Demonstrated knowledge of accreditations, including Texas Rising Star and National Association for the Education of Young Children;
- Demonstrated ability to execute classroom observations, assessments, development plans;
- Strong leadership, mentorship, and partnership skills with other site level administration;
- Ability to analyze and interpret student data to inform instructional decisions;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills; and
- Must pass a background check and have a valid driver license.
