ARD Classroom Support Assistant (Poteet) –

Paraprofessional – Campus/Instructional Assistant

Provide instructional assistance and student supervision in a variety of classroom settings to support student learning and ensure continuity of instruction while teachers attend Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) committee meetings. Maintain a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment in alignment with district and campus expectations.

• High school diploma or GED

• Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
• Ability to work well with children with diverse needs, including students with disabilities
• Knowledge of general classroom management practices
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to maintain confidentiality

• Experience working with children preferred

• Provide classroom coverage for teachers attending ARD committee meetings
• Assist in implementing teacher-directed lesson plans and instructional activities
• Help students master instructional materials and reinforce learning concepts
• Provide support to students receiving special education services, including implementation of accommodations and modifications as directed
• Help manage student behavior and maintain a structured learning environment
• Monitor students during assigned periods to ensure safety and appropriate behavior
• Assist with transitions, routines, and supervision of students in various settings
• Work with individual students or small groups to support learning and engagement
• Adapt to various classroom assignments, including general education and special education settings
• Assist with instructional materials and classroom organization as needed
• Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information
• Participate in staff development and training as required
• Follow district safety protocols and campus procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned
