Transportation Engineer III/IV/V - PDO PS&E Section - DAL

The Dallas District Project Delivery Office (PDO) PS&E Section is looking for Transportation Engineers to work on the District's numerous PS&E project portfolio managed within PDO. This position will have the opportunity to manage PS&E projects from the robust District profile of major mobility projects. Engineers in this role will work with various departments within the District seeing how a project goes from schematic through final design submittals, ROW coordination, and Utility coordination along with letting projects for construction.

This position will allow for great experience in major project development processes and management of consultant contracts.

Position Title Salary Grade/Range:

  • Transportation Engineer III B26: $76,530.00 - $/year
  • Transportation Engineer IV B27: $84,182.00 - $/year
  • Transportation Engineer V B28: $92,600.00 - $/year

This position is for a Transportation Engineer III, IV or V. The Texas Department of Transportation reserves the sole right in determining the level of position based on the applicant's work experience, education, skill level, and all other appropriate factors, and based on business needs.

Position

Description:

Performs highly advanced and complex transportation engineering work in one or more functional areas such as planning, project development and design, construction, transportation/traffic operations, maintenance and/or research. Ensures compliance with applicable federal and state laws, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines. Work requires contact with governmental officials and private entities. Employees at this level are virtually self-supervising and assume direct accountability for the work product.

Essential Duties - Transportation Engineer III/IV/V:

  • Performs highly advanced and complex engineering design work
  • Performs and/or coordinates the review and processing of Plans, Specifications, and Estimates
  • Monitors consultants' progress and work quality; checks invoices and associated documents
  • Represents the district at technical meetings and public hearings
  • Reviews schematics, PS&E, project designs on engineering transportation projects
  • Makes presentations and represents TxDOT
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Education
-Transportation Engineer III/IV/V:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related science bachelor's or higher degree accepted by TX PELS.

Experience:

Transportation Engineer III - 6 years engineering, transportation engineering, or related engineering experience (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent).
