The HT Group is seeking a VP of Finance/Controller for our client in the Dallas, Texas area. This role will lead all financial operations, including reporting, project costing and analysis, payroll, cash flow, banking, insurance, bonding, and Board support.

The VP of Finance will also partner with leadership to develop and manage the annual operating plan, setting financial goals, driving accountability, and recommending actions to support performance.

This is a direct-hire opportunity with an immediate hiring need. Candidates must be based in the Dallas area or open to relocation

• Partner with the President and executive team on strategic planning, financial forecasting, and overall financial guidance
• Oversee all accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP and tax regulations
• Prepare monthly financial statements, WIP reporting, and present results to executives, board members, and banking partners
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and daily bank balances; oversee receivables, payables, retention, payroll, and tax filings
• Analyze project performance, including billing, cost controls, change orders, and bonding
• Manage relationships with CPA, auditors, banks, bonding and insurance providers; coordinate annual audits and insurance renewals
• Support pre-qualifications (, TxDOT) and estimating with job costing standards
• Maintain integrity of the Sage 300 accounting system and strengthen internal controls
• Lead, develop, and manage accounting staff

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required;
  Master’s preferred
• 10+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience, including construction, paving, or general contracting industries
• CPA preferred
• Strong knowledge of accounting operations, financial management, GAAP, and tax regulations
• Experience with Sage 300 (construction platform) preferred; familiarity with HCSS (Heavy Bid/Heavy Job) a plus
• Proven ability to lead teams and present financials to a Board of Directors
• Expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
• Strong communication, leadership, strategic thinking, and technical skills
