Job Purpose
Our Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing and procuring goods and services that meet company and customer requirements for quality, cost, and delivery. This role supports multiple commodity categories and works closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely procurement, cost savings, and operational efficiency. The position operates in a fast‑paced environment and requires the ability to manage multiple priorities while processing a high volume of daily transactions with accuracy and attention to detail.
Job Responsibilities Procurement & Sourcing- Independently manage procurement activities by identifying sourcing requirements, preparing purchase orders and requests for quotation (RFQs), soliciting bids, negotiating supplier terms, and recommending cost‑effective purchasing decisions.
- Support operational, manufacturing, sales, estimating, project management, and accounting functions through effective procurement strategies and supplier management.
- Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to obtain pricing, lead times, product availability, and delivery information.
- Process and monitor a high volume of daily procurement transactions, including purchase orders, supplier quotations, job tickets, invoice reconciliations, and inventory‑related activities while ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies, order variances, inventory concerns, and quality issues with suppliers and internal teams.
- Review requisitions, contracts, and approved supplier lists to ensure adherence to company standards related to quality, pricing, service, and delivery.
- Identify and implement cost‑saving opportunities while maintaining product specifications and service expectations.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, procedures, and approved supplier requirements.
- Collaborate with estimating, operations, manufacturing, and sales teams to align material costs with project estimates and customer requirements.
- Support contract execution, RFQ responses, supplier onboarding, and vendor compliance initiatives.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of manufacturing operations, plant equipment, receiving procedures, inventory control processes, and material flow.
- Support inventory accuracy and material availability to ensure uninterrupted operations and customer satisfaction.
- Experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or logistics.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, distribution, print, packaging, or production environments preferred.
- Experience in Monarch system a plus.
- Associate Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment while managing multiple priorities and a high volume of daily transactions.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy, quality, and attention to detail while balancing competing business demands.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to make sound purchasing decisions.
- 2+ years related experience preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- The ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Associate/Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
