Operator , Finishing

Overview

Operator 2, Finishing  Finishing Operator will be responsible for assisting in the Finishing department with make readies, press equipment operations, performing quality control functions and operating small equipment.

• Ensure each job is produced to customer specifications, meeting internal and external deadlines.
• Read and understand job tickets for stock and color specifications.
• Assist the Operator with make-ready and operate press based upon written instructions provided.
• Verify that stock and inks match job specs on ticket.
• Perform press make ready, folder set ups, maintain press register and color.
• Perform quality pull sheet procedures and ensure samples are pulled and labeled according to company press SOPs.
• Help keep machine running and clean while performing maintenance and minimizing downtime.
• Communicate any quality or material concerns to the appropriate department in a timely manner.

• 1-3 years of related job experience.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently.

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.

• Regularly working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse with exposure to cold, heat, damp or humid conditions.
• Exposure to loud noise.
• Exposure to dust, mechanical hazards, moving objects, and moving vehicles.

• Lift, twist and carry up to 50-75 pounds; push/pull up to 160 pounds of product with equipment; handle skids up to 2,000 pounds using pallet jack.
• Walk/stand throughout the warehouse; stand when operating order picker, reach truck, or cutter.
• Sit only when driving sit-down material handling equipment.
• Lift items weighing a few ounces to 150 pounds with assistance.
• Stooping and kneeling to fill orders or place away products at floor level.
