QC Inspectors

We are looking for detailed inspectors with 2–3 years of experience to serve as the final checkpoint for visual inspections. Active or recent IPC-A-610 certification is required for this role, and candidates must be able to read complex assembly drawings and identify microscopic part markings.

Benefits
  • Remote medical care
  • Pharmacy benefits
  • Urgent care
  • Lab coverage
Responsibilities
  • Visual Inspection: Perform detailed final and in-process visual inspections of populated circuit boards under magnification to verify solder joint quality, component placement, and orientation.
  • First Article Inspection (FAI): Conduct comprehensive First Article Inspections for new production runs, verifying that the initial build matches the Bill of Materials (BOM), assembly drawings, and customer requirements flawlessly.
  • Defect Identification: Identify manufacturing defects such as solder bridges, cold joints, missing components, or incorrect polarity, and clearly document these non-conformances.
  • Routing & Rework Verification: Route defective assemblies to the rework/solder technicians with clear instructions, and re-inspect the boards post-rework to verify the corrections meet quality standards.
  • Standard Compliance: Ensure all products strictly adhere to IPC-A-610 acceptability standards and internal quality management systems (AS9100D for aerospace, ISO 13485 for medical devices).
  • Documentation: Accurately complete quality logs, inspection reports, and traveler documents. Enter pass/fail data and defect codes into the ERP/MRP system to maintain complete lot traceability.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with SMT, AOI, and Production teams by providing feedback on recurring defect trends to help optimize manufacturing processes and reduce scrap.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in quality control or inspection within an electronics manufacturing (PCBA) environment.
  • Certifications: Active or recent certification in IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies) is strictly required. IPC J-STD-001 certification is highly preferred.
  • Blueprint Reading: Strong ability to read and interpret complex assembly drawings, BOMs, schematics, and customer-specific routing instructions.
  • Component Recognition: Expert-level ability to identify a wide range of surface-mount (SMT) and through-hole components, including reading microscopic part markings and values.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional focus and an uncompromising eye for quality when reviewing high-density electronic assemblies.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively document issues and discuss quality standards with production staff.
Physical Requirements
  • Excellent close‑up vision, depth perception, and the ability to differentiate colors accurately.
  • Ability to comfortably use and look through a stereo microscope or magnifying tools for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods at an inspection station.
  • Manual dexterity for handling delicate electronic assemblies without causing Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) damage.
Requirements
  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Accept a background check to be performed.
  • Accept a drug test to be performed.
  • Knowledge in: PCB Quality Control.
