Description:
The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for ensuring that products and components sourced from suppliers meet the company's quality standards and specifications. The SQE will work closely with suppliers to develop and maintain robust quality systems, resolve quality issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external suppliers.Responsibilities:
- Investigate and resolve supplier-related quality issues, including non-conformances, defects, claim, and customer complaints.
- Evaluate supplier performance, introduce new supplier/material, review and approve supplier engineering change, do first article inspection.
- Lead cross-functional teams to investigate material related quality issues and drive solutions.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely resolution of quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to foster continuous improvement.
- Assume responsibility for technical responses to suppliers on quality issues; lead investigations and drive corrective actions.
- Liaise with Suppliers during visits, conduct process/system audits.
- Track and resolve open issues pertaining to new product launches, develop control documents and other Customer/Supplier required quality documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to enhance product quality and reliability
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions related to supplier quality.
- Support IQC inspection training, test equipment set up, Control plan and SIP updates
- Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Canadian Solar Solution Code of Business Conduct
- Support ISO 9001 activities
- Adhere to all environmental, health and safety rules and policies.
- Conduct other duties as required.
Qualifications and
Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree (minimum of 4 years) or equivalent years of education;
Special consideration given to Quality Accreditation’s (AQC/AIAG) and technical courses completed (Auditor, etc.) - Minimum of three years’ experience in a Quality capacity within a manufacturing environment
