PURPOSE:
To maintain all plumbing and related fixtures in such a manner that students have a safe, sanitary, and comfortable place in which to learn.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED Texas Drivers License with less that three (3) moving traffic violations within the past three (3) years SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/
SKILLS:
Possess a working knowledge of plumbing. Exhibit ability to work with hand tools. All plumbing hand tools, drills, sawsall, concrete saw, core drill, jack hammers (air and electric), chop saw, welding torch(cutting and soldering), powervise and power head threaders, lift gate, chain and ratchet pipe cutters, hammer drills, post hole diggers (gas and manual), various locating equipment, test equipment, sewer and jetting equipment
EXPERIENCE:
Successful experience of one (1) year in plumbing trade.
MAJOR
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Assist in keeping trucks supplied with appropriate replacement parts and materials. Assist in maintaining all plumbing related fixtures and equipment. Assist in the maintenance and repair of both internal and external plumbing systems. Assist in the maintenance of water, sewer, and gas systems. Assist in the preventative maintenance and repairs of plumbing fixtures, hot water heaters, and sprinkler systems. Assist in the operation and proper care of assigned vehicles and tools.
Keep trucks supplied with appropriate replacement parts and materials in neat and orderly fashion. Assist in the completion of work orders. Assist in the arranging/rearranging of furniture, fixtures, etc., and cleanup of debris from maintenance repairs and/or replacements. Perform other duties as assigned.

Mental Demands:
Reading and comprehending simple instructions both written and oral. Communicating verbally with fellow workers, teachers, and administrators. Physical demands/environmental factors:
Lifting, pushing and or carrying of materials and equipment with weight ranges from 50-80 pounds. Reaching with hands and arms. Sitting, stooping, squatting and kneeling, reaching above the head and reaching forward. Continuously using hand strength to grasp tools and climbing on to ladders and on top of equipment in the range of 30-50 ft. Bending or twisting at the neck and trunk more than the average person while performing the duties of this job.
Working in ditches, under buildings, in attics and on roof tops. Working both inside and outside; exposure to temperature extremes and inclement weather. Exposure to sewer gasses as well as dusty, damp areas.
