Salary: $18.14/hr. min - $24.30/hr. max (Depending on experience and certification)
Equipment Mechanic II
Salary: $19.85/hr. min - $27.41/hr. max (Depending on experience and certification)
Equipment Mechanic III
Salary: $22.30hr. min - $30.80/hr. max (Depending on experience and certification)
Maintains and repairs heavy and light mechanical equipment, parts and components.
Supervision:
General supervision is provided by the Equipment Services Senior Supervisor during the day or Equipment Services Shift Supervisor at night.
Other duties and responsibilities:
- Responds to service calls as needed; makes repairs in the field when possible; and tows vehicles when necessary.
- Assists other technicians in performing repairs.
- May modify, fabricate and install special equipment.
- Researches and stays current on new technologies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent. Technical Training:
May require completion of up to 18 months of vocational education/training in automotive, Med/Heavy Truck maintenance or repair at an accredited trade school.
Experience:
Three years of automotive/truck/equipment maintenance and repair experience, or graduation from an accredited automotive/truck trade school of at-least 18 months.
Licenses and Certificates:
Possession of a valid driver's license and obtain a Class A commercial driver's license within 6 Months of employment start date and comply with the City of Mesquite's policy on driving. Must obtain a Texas Department of Public Safety/Emissions Inspection Certification within 6 months of hire.
Preference will be given to applicants who have an associate's degree from an accredited college, and/or valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL);
Technicians having ASE Master Certification on Automotive or Medium/Heavy Trucks and familiar with computerized fleet management programs.
Work Schedule:
Second Shift —Mon - Fri, 12:00 pm to 8:30 p,m. with a 30 min lunch break.
