PRIMARY
PURPOSE:
To maintain all plumbing and related fixtures in such a manner that students have a safe, sanitary, and comfortable place in which to learn.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED Texas Drivers License with less that three (3) moving traffic violations within the past three (3) years Journeyman license
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/
SKILLS:
Possess a working knowledge of plumbing. Exhibit familiarity with building mechanics and skilled in the use of plumbing tools. Display knowledge of plumbing systems including water, sewer, and gas. Exhibit ability to read and understand blueprints. All plumbing hand tools, drills, sawzalls, concrete saw, core drill, jack hammers (air and electric), chop saw, welding torch (cutting and soldering), powervise and power head threaders, lift gate, chain and ratchet pipe cutters, hammer drills, post hole diggers (gas and manual), various locating equipment, test equipment, sewer and jetting equipment.
EXPERIENCE:
Successful experience in plumbing or plumbing repair. Successful experience of at least three (3) years in the industry.
MAJOR
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Perform repair work with safety and speed so as not to obstruct school activities. Maintain plumbing fixtures, sprinklers, boilers, and heaters. Maintain trucks with plumbing supplies, replacement parts, and materials. Complete work orders by carefully documenting work performed and materials used. Provide supervisor with written notice of conditions that need the supervisor's attention, whether of a preventative, safety, or factual need.
Assist in the operation and proper care of assigned vehicles and tools. Assume responsibility for the arranging/rearranging of furniture, fixtures, etc. and clean-up of debris from maintenance repairs and/or replacements. Perform other duties as assigned.

Reading and comprehending simple instructions both written and oral. Writing simple required reports. Meeting demands of deadlines and severe time constraints Physical demands/environmental factors:
Lifting, pushing and or carrying of materials and equipment with weight ranges from 50-80 pounds. Reaching with hands and arms. Sitting, stooping, squatting and kneeling, reaching above the head and reaching forward. Continuously using hand strength to grasp tools and climbing on to ladders and on top of equipment in the range of 30-50 ft. Bending or twisting at the neck and trunk more than the average person while performing the duties of this job.
Working in ditches, under buildings, in attics and on roof tops. Working both inside and outside; exposure to temperature extremes and inclement weather. Exposure to sewer gasses as well as dusty, damp areas.
