Overview
HDR is seeking an experienced communications professional to fill the role of Strategic Communications Lead for Louisiana. In this role, you will join HDR’s Strategic Communications practice—a global team of communicators who are passionate about putting people first in infrastructure planning and development. As a full-service community engagement and creative practice, we develop and implement strategies to help clients foster understanding and build more connected, equitable, and sustainable communities.
ResponsibilitiesIn the role of Strategic Communications Lead, we'll count on you to:
- Develop and implement traditional and innovative communications strategies to educate, inform, and build relationships with audiences impacted by infrastructure decision-making and projects, including:
- Outreach and education programs
- Public input collection campaigns
- Branding initiatives
- Media management strategies
- Stakeholder engagement programs
- Digital/online engagement
- Conflict facilitation
- NEPA public involvement processes
- Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets
- Manage sub-consultants
- Manage Quality Control/Quality Assurance processes
- Develop, lead, and mentor a team of Strategic Communications professionals
- Take administrative responsibility for team staff and technical service functions, and lead and coordinate services with other sections
- Assist in the responsibility for operations of production including staff development, profitability, morale, quality control and marketing support
- Lead and support marketing and strategic planning efforts to expand HDR’s service to clients in Louisiana
- Be directly involved with industrial and public clients in marketing, project production and related issues
- Assist in ensuring that all work is planned, organized, controlled and evaluated through proactive project management system
- Take ownership of tactics and outcomes and measure their impact
- Implement, monitor and support company policy
- Assist in the selection, training, development and management of technical personnel
- Work cooperatively with National Directors and marketing staff in local and national marketing and production efforts
- Perform other duties as needed
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 7 years experience
- Professional registration, license or certification may be required based on role
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Ability to handle multiple assignments
- Good leadership and organizational skills
