Job Summary
The RN Program Specialist is Stroke Program Coordinator, managing our Comprehensive Stroke Center program. Candidate needs experience with program management, performance improvement, and nursing experience from a neuro unit.
General Duties- Collaborates with leadership in assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the designated program.
- Assists in program, center, and/or service line development, managing the accreditation process and ensuring continuous compliance with state and national standards.
- Maintains relevant policies and procedures, patient education, outcomes data collection, quality improvement efforts, and education of relevant staff and patients in the various aspects of the specific patient population with a focus on patient safety.
- Administers appropriate required committee(s) and must attend required meetings for program compliance.
- Supports the development of written protocols and education of nursing staff detailing the rapid communication and basic response to critical patient findings that are specifically required to minimize delays in the diagnosis of treatment of serious adverse events.
- Coordinates and maintains ongoing patient tracking, abstracting, and data entry into necessary registries.
- Works closely with team members to ensure timely submission of outcomes data to the registries.
- Responsible for quality and performance improvement activities that comply with state and national guidelines to include the American College of Surgeons, the Joint Commission, and CMS criteria.
- Supports the operational needs of the program.
- Oversees the monitoring of the effectiveness of existing processes toward improving quality outcomes.
- Anticipates future requirements for maintaining expertise in area.
- Responsible for program assessment and collaboration of business development.
- Stays current with industry trends and innovations.
- 3 years of experience in clinical nursing.
- Associate's degree in nursing (required).
- Basic Life Support.
- Health Care Provider.
- Registered Nursing License.
