Accounting Clerk

Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk on a contract basis in Methuen, Massachusetts. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial data, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the accounting team with essential tasks. This position requires strong organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel to ensure seamless financial operations.

Responsibilities:

- Enter financial data accurately into accounting systems, spreadsheets, and databases.

- Perform account reconciliations, including reviewing bank statements, invoices, and vendor records to verify accuracy.

- Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets to track financial information, perform calculations, and generate insightful reports.

- Assist in the preparation of financial documents such as invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports.

- Organize and maintain up-to-date financial records and filing systems for easy retrieval.

- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to address discrepancies and respond to financial inquiries.

- Support the accounting team during month-end closing processes by ensuring all data is properly recorded and reconciled.

- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations while handling financial transactions.

- Provide administrative assistance to the finance department as needed.

Requirements - Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting or a related field.

- Proficiency in account reconciliation processes and techniques.

- Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.

- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas and spreadsheet management.

- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

- Strong communication skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

- Familiarity with accounting principles and practices.

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
