Accounting Assistant

A stable and growing insurance organization is seeking an Accounting Assistant to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in accounting while gaining hands‑on experience with Accounts Payable, reconciliations, and General Ledger support. Strong Excel skills and attention to detail are key to success in this role.

• Process Accounts Payable invoices, commissions, and payments
• Perform bank reconciliations and balance statements
• Prepare and distribute daily cash reports
• Verify payment accuracy and issue or reissue checks as needed
• Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation
• Respond to inquiries regarding commissions and payment status
• Support month-end activities and special accounting projects
• Assist with departmental operations and continuous process improvements

• Previous experience in accounting, accounts payable, bookkeeping, banking, or office administration
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree, or relevant coursework in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
• Experience with Concur or Tracker software is a plus
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

• 8:15 AM-4:30 PM
• 37.5 hours per week
• $21-$23 per hour

Experience:

• Microsoft Excel: 1 year (Preferred)
