Valid Massachusetts teaching license in Vocational Teacher-Information Support & Services Cluster—Programming and Web Development with SEI Endorsement required. Training & experience in Computer Science, Programming, Web Development, Support & Services, and Networking. Additional content area license encouraged.
Training and ExperienceAt least a Bachelor's degree in the major field;
Master’s degree preferred.
Bilingual preferred. Primary languages spoken in the community are English, Spanish, Arabic, and French.
Skills and Ability- Communicate clearly and concisely in oral and written form.
- Use evidence‑based research practices and data to guide student achievement.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, staff, and the community.
- Work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Perform duties while complying with all district, state, and federal laws and Methuen School policies.
- Work with students of diverse backgrounds and inclusive practices.
- Maintain appropriate confidential records.
- React professionally and objectively to unpredictable situations (e.g., environmental changes, behavior/aggression, seizure activity).
- Operate and acquire skills for using computers and instructional technology, including Google and other platforms.
- Demonstrate strong collaborative, teaching, coaching, and leadership skills to support student programming and teamwork.
- Possess strong organizational skills for balancing the demands of a high‑demand position.
- Have knowledge of the specialized content area and related laws and procedures.
- Plan and implement lessons based on district and school objectives and the needs and abilities of assigned students.
- Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
- Create a safe and conducive classroom environment appropriate to student maturity and interests.
- Guide the learning process toward curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects.
- Employ best instructional methods (e.g., Universal Design for Learning) and materials appropriate for meeting objectives.
- Communicate with colleagues, students, and parents regularly.
- Adhere to all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior, and maintain order.
- Plan and supervise assignments for teacher aides or volunteers.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on staff and/or school committees.
- Participate in staff development programs.

Position subject to Methuen Education Association (Unit
A) Contract. District reserves the right to transfer personnel among buildings as needed, provided no conflict with the contract.
