Assistant Coordinators for MPS Rangers Club Before and After School Program (Gr. K-8)

Program HoursMon. through Fri. 6:45 a.m.
-8:15 a.m.; 2:00 p.m.
- 6:00 p.m. (with additional hours/days noted below according to MPS school calendar). Additional hours may be required for before‑school coverage, planning, days noted below, and as needed by the Program Coordinators and/or the Program Manager of Community Programs or her designee. Programs will run through the school year, including open houses, professional development days, parent conference days, all other half days & delayed openings, and winter and spring recesses.
Hours not to exceed 29 hours/week on average and are subject to change.
The availability of this position is contingent upon sufficient funding and enrollment.
Qualifications- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Prior experience as an RC or out‑of‑school‑time assistant coordinator or staff preferred.
- Excellent organizational and record‑keeping skills, and an attendance record.
- Successful experience working collaboratively with others, preferably educators.
- Successful experience working with K-8 students.
- Ability to have a flexible schedule.
- Outstanding preparation and/or experience may be substituted for some of the above qualifications.
- CPR/First Aid preferred.
- Assist the program coordinator (PC) in all aspects of the program for K‑8 students, e.g., development of program curriculum, staff scheduling and evaluations, handling supplies and materials, etc.
- Lead after‑school program activities.
- Be responsible for students on field trips.
- Assist with the food program and parent drop‑offs & pick‑ups.
- Work with program partners and make transportation arrangements for field trips, if necessary.
- Meet with the PC to discuss program/student issues.
- Maintain communications with the PC and group leaders regarding program and/or students; excellent attendance required.
- Keep required records, and submit reports accurately and in a timely manner.
- Participate in orientations, planning/monthly meetings, workshops, half days, delayed openings, winter & spring recesses, and parent conference days as required by program coordinators/administrators and submit notes of each to the PC. Workshops are scheduled for Tuesday, November 3rd; attendance is required.
- Perform other duties as required by the PC, the Asst. Program Manager & Program Manager of Community Programs, or her designee.
- Perform duties of the PC in his/her absence.
* Positions may be combined at the discretion of the Program Manager.
Salary$22 - $27/hr.
