Vice President of Finance

The Vice President of Finance is mission-driven, strategic, and an operationally strong partner who serves as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President of Finance will provide leadership, oversight, and stewardship of all financial operations for a multi-branch nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the foundations of community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

The Vice President of Finance serves as a trusted advisor to the CEO, Board of Directors, Finance Committee, and senior leadership team while maintaining hands-on oversight of all accounting, financial reporting, compliance, audit, budgeting, forecasting, and treasury functions.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Seven or more years of progressive financial leadership experience.
• Strong experience in accounting, budgeting, forecasting, audits, and reporting.
• CPA, MBA, or nonprofit experience preferred.

• Partner with the CEO and executive team to develop and execute strategic and financial objectives.
• Acts as a strategic advisor to the CEO, Board and Finance Committee.
• Provides leadership, mentoring, training and coaching to the Finance Department team.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support organizational decision-making.
• Leads long-range financial planning and sustainability initiatives working closely with the CEO and COO.
• Participate in capital planning, and growth initiatives.

• Direct all aspects of financial management and reporting.
• Lead annual operating and capital budgets.
• Assist with debt management and serve planning.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, dashboard and KPI reporting.
• Oversee financial reporting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
• Manage cash flow, investments, banking relationships, and financial risk management.

• Oversee General Ledger, AP, AR, Fixed Assets and Grant Accounting.
• Administration of YERDI fund contributions.
• Serve as primary liaison to external auditors.
• Coordinate annual audits and tax filings.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements, YMCA standards and grants are adhered to.

• Lead and develop finance staff.
• Foster accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
• Promote financial literacy and accountability throughout the YMCA.
