Position

Summary

Arthur Center is looking for a Dental Front Desk Specialist who is organized, personable, and passionate about creating a welcoming experience for every patient who walks through our doors. In this role, you will be the first and last point of contact for our dental patients setting the tone for their visit, keeping our clinical schedule running smoothly, and ensuring that every administrative detail from check-in to check-out is handled with care and accuracy.

Key Tasks And Responsibilities Patient Experience & Front Desk Operations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for dental patients - greeting, checking in, and checking out patients with warmth and professionalism.
  • Orient new patients to health center services, facilities, and what to expect during their care.
  • Coordinate appointments and manage all patient communications with accuracy and a helpful, friendly tone.
  • Demonstrate strong telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills in all patient and provider interactions.
Scheduling & Clinician Coordination
  • Monitor dental clinician schedules to ensure clinical resources are maximized and patient caseloads are managed effectively.
  • Ensure adequate patient access for both routine and emergency dental care in compliance with Managed Medicaid contract requirements.
  • Communicate proactively with dental clinicians regarding schedules, patient concerns, and appointment priorities.
Insurance, Billing & Records
  • Assist with insurance verification and billing processes to support accurate and timely claims.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and uphold strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policy.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Skills and Attributes
  • Warm, welcoming presence with strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Professional telephone etiquette and clear, effective communication with patients, families, and clinical staff.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and a busy front desk environment simultaneously.
  • Comfortable with scheduling systems, electronic health records, and general office software.
  • Committed to patient confidentiality and the accurate handling of sensitive information.
  • Team-oriented and able to collaborate effectively with dental clinicians and administrative colleagues.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in a dental or medical front desk role preferred.
  • Familiarity with dental scheduling software, insurance verification, and basic billing processes preferred.
