Job position description
Arthur Center Community Health is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Associate Dentist to join our Dental Services Clinic. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals and families in our community by providing high quality, person-centered dental care.
Key Tasks And Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive dental care to patients, including routine check-ups, cleanings, fillings, extractions, and preventative care.
- Conduct thorough exams and diagnoses, developing personalized treatment plans.
- Manage dental emergencies and special cases as needed.
- Demonstrate excellent patient communication skills, ensuring children and their families feel comfortable and informed throughout their treatment.
- Address and manage behavioral health issues, using calming techniques, positive reinforcement, and other strategies to create a positive dental experience.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including primary care providers, mental health professionals, and dental hygienists to deliver integrated care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and health center policies.
- Participate in community outreach and educational initiatives to promote oral health awareness in the local community.
- Provide guidance to dental assistants and other staff as needed.
- Demonstrate leadership and professional judgment as a dentist, especially in challenging situations with limited local resources.
- Possess strong clinical and communication skills to serve patients in integrated care settings, particularly those with limited access to conventional care.
- Review colleagues’ work and provide constructive feedback to support their professional growth.
- Understand quality dental practices and public health dentistry.
- Exhibit integrity to build and maintain long‑term relationships.
- Collaborate effectively within a team.
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD)
- Must have an unrestricted license to practice dentistry in Missouri, have BNDD, and DEA numbers
- Training or experience in managing behavioral health issues and anxiety in the dental setting is a plus
- Willingness to work in a rural health center and provide care to underserved populations.
- Knowledge of current dental technologies and techniques, with a commitment to continuous professional development.
