We are headquartered in Mexico, MO and currently serve the Audrain, Callaway, Montgomery, Pike, Ralls, and Monroe Counties. We employ close to 200 people at our 5 locations.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Youth Community Specialist (YCS) to join our team and provide high‑quality, community‑based support to youth. This role delivers case management and rehabilitation‑level Community Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (CPRP) services to youth experiencing a serious emotional disturbance or who meet criteria for CPRP‑level support.

Key Tasks And Responsibilities
  • Develop resiliency goals and identify strengths, needs, abilities, preferences, skills, resources and supports.
  • Provide direct services in the form of educating, modeling and teaching skills.
  • Teach youth how to self‑advocate and access and use resources and supports to assist in the development of resiliency and the promotion of holistic health and wellness.
  • Engage youth, families, schools and other supports in developing a productive working relationship through quality person‑centered treatment planning.
  • Engage natural supports in the care and treatment of youth.
  • Support and assist youth in a crisis to access needed treatment services to resolve the crisis.
  • Maintain records of consumer contacts as defined by the organization to fulfill reporting and quality improvement requirements.
  • Treat youth, family members, other child‑serving agency personnel and other staff with dignity and respect.
  • Maintains good relationships with referral sources and other departments in the organizations.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Has a working knowledge of the juvenile justice system, Division of Family Services, and the Educational System.

  • Is self‑directed and able to work independently using sound judgment.
  • Able to be flexible, non-judgmental, open‑minded and accepting while still being able to maintain healthy professional boundaries.
  • Compassionate and caring about youth.
  • Has knowledge of youth mental health diagnoses, treatment practices and interventions.
Degree And Licensure Requirements

Meets at least one of the following:

  • Criteria for a mental health professional.
  • Has a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field.
  • Equivalent experience may be substituted based on one year of experience for each year of required education.
