Tool & Die Technician
HiFyve is hiring a Tool & Die Technician in the Automotive Manufacturing industry in Mexico, MO!
Salary: $30-$37/hr
Shift: 2nd Shift and 3rd Shift Available
Location:
Mexico, MO
- Perform die repair, die maintenance, die refurbishment, and preventive maintenance activities in the tool room and at die cast machines.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, specifications, plumbing diagrams, and part drawings to fabricate and repair tooling components.
- Operate manual and CNC machining equipment, including lathes, mills, grinders, saws, drills, and other tool room machinery.
- Fabricate, repair, and refurbish precision fixtures, gages, dies, molds, core pins, shop aids, and replacement parts.
- Perform TIG welding repairs and complete machining or finishing processes to restore tooling to production specifications.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Troubleshoot tooling and repair issues, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and verify repair effectiveness.
- Safely operate overhead cranes to move dies, molds, tooling, and related components.
- Complete work orders, inspection documentation, check sheets, and ERP system entries accurately while supporting production operations.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Degree and/or Certificate in Machine Shop Technology or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of tool room, tool and die, or related machining experience.
- Strong experience operating manual and CNC machinery to produce precision parts to exact specifications.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Experience with die casting dies, molds, tooling repair, and refurbishment preferred.
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools and inspection equipment.
- TIG welding experience and ability to perform tooling repairs preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
