Western Smokehouse Partners is looking for a Sanitation Team Member.

The Sanitation Team Member is responsible for the thorough cleaning and sanitizing of equipment, rooms, and facility surfaces to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for food production. Under the direct supervision of the FSQA Manager, this role plays a critical part in maintaining food safety and supporting timely production startup. The technician is also responsible for verifying sanitation procedures, assisting with lockdown documentation, and unloading raw materials.

Duties
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, rooms, and surfaces using hoses, mops, squeegees, and approved cleaning agents.
  • Prepare the Processing, Packaging, Retail, Meat, Cooler, and Cut Rooms for the next shift.
  • Clean and sanitize all floors, ensuring they are free from debris and product waste.
  • Disassemble and reassemble equipment and machines for sanitation and setup.
  • Load smokehouses with raw products and initiate programs based on batch specifications.
  • Complete post-operation (post-op) check sheets to ensure cleaning duties were performed correctly.
  • Accurately document all sanitation activities on the Master Cleaning Sheet.
  • Enforce and document lockdown procedures for the facility.
  • Unload trailers, verify Bill of Lading (BOL), record temperatures, and scan products into Vista Trac system.
  • Store incoming pallets in the appropriate cooler or racking area.
  • Follow all company SOPs, GMPs, and FDA regulations related to sanitation and food safety.
  • Report food safety concerns, product or facility damage, and equipment failures to supervision.
  • Wear appropriate PPE and follow all safety protocols.
  • Support other departments as needed and fill in for other sanitation roles or leadership when required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1+ year of experience in manufacturing or sanitation role, preferably in food processing.
  • Familiarity with sanitation equipment, cleaning protocols, and chemical handling.
  • Understanding food safety, GMP, and OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including SOPs and cleaning checklists.
  • Basic computer literacy for data entry and equipment scanning.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. for extended periods.
  • Work is performed in a cold, wet, or humid environment depending on the room.
  • Frequent exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment noise.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required at all times in designated areas.
