Safety & Continuous Improvement Coordinator

The Safety & Continuous Improvement Coordinator is responsible for supporting and promoting a safe work environment while assisting with the organization's continuous improvement initiatives. This position coordinates daily safety activities including employee onboarding, safety audits, incident investigations, regulatory compliance, employee training, and corrective actions. In addition, this role partners with leadership to support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives that improve operational efficiency, reduce waste, and strengthen employee engagement throughout the facility.

The Safety & Continuous Improvement Coordinator works closely with Operations, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Human Resources, Warehouse, and Leadership to foster a proactive safety culture while supporting operational excellence.

Key

Job Functions:

  • Conduct new hire safety orientation, facility safety tours, and required onboarding safety training.
  • Perform daily safety audits, inspections, behavioral observations, and PPE compliance checks throughout the facility.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors, communicate corrective actions, and promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Serve as a resource for employees regarding safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Assist with OSHA compliance and preparation for internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
  • Investigate workplace incidents by completing reports, interviewing employees and witnesses, escorting injured employees for medical treatment when necessary, and documenting findings.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis and assist in developing, implementing, and verifying corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation, including incident reports, inspections, audits, training records, corrective actions, OSHA logs, and other compliance records.
  • Coordinate and facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and employee training.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, process improvement, and Continuous Improvement initiatives that improve safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify improvement opportunities and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Assist in developing and updating safety policies, SOPs, work instructions, and One Point Lessons.
  • Partner with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Warehouse, HR, and Leadership to resolve safety and operational issues.
  • Support emergency response activities and provide basic first aid within the scope of training.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
