General Cashier / Accounts Payable Clerk

The Setai, Miami Beach

The General Cashier / Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for managing the daily cash-handling activities of the hotel while supporting the Accounts Payable function. This position ensures that cash deposits, invoices, payments, reconciliations, and financial records are processed accurately, securely, and on time.

General Cashier
  • Collect, verify, and reconcile daily cash deposits from hotel outlets and departments.
  • Prepare and complete daily bank deposits accurately and within established deadlines.
  • Maintain accountability for the hotel safe, house banks, petty cash funds, and change requests.
  • Issue and receive cashier banks in accordance with hotel procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits and counts of cashier banks and petty cash funds.
  • Investigate and report cash discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of all cash transactions, deposits, reimbursements, and adjustments.
  • Ensure cash and financial documents are handled securely and confidentially.
  • Assist with credit card reconciliations and research payment discrepancies when needed.
  • Follow all internal controls, accounting procedures, and cash-handling policies.
Accounts Payable
  • Review invoices for accuracy, proper coding, supporting documentation, and required approvals.
  • Match invoices with purchase orders, receiving records, and other supporting documents.
  • Enter invoices and payment information accurately into the accounting system.
  • Assist with weekly check runs, ACH payments, and other vendor payments.
  • Maintain complete and organized vendor files, invoices, payment records, and supporting documentation.
  • Review vendor statements and research missing invoices, duplicate charges, credits, and discrepancies.
  • Respond professionally and promptly to vendor and department inquiries.
  • Assist with new vendor setup and collection of required documentation, including W-9 forms.
  • Monitor outstanding invoices and help ensure payments are processed according to agreed terms.
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting.
  • Support annual audits and provide requested documentation.
  • Assist the Finance team with additional accounting and administrative responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of one to two years of accounting, accounts payable, cashiering, or bookkeeping experience preferred.
  • Previous hospitality or luxury hotel experience is strongly preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and internal financial controls.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and accounting software.
  • Ability to work accurately with numbers and handle confidential financial information.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Professional demeanor and commitment to exceptional internal and external service.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with hotel departments and vendors.

Work Requirements
  • This is a full-time, on-site position at The Setai, Miami Beach.
  • Availability may be required during month-end closing, audits, holidays, or other business-critical periods.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods and occasionally lift or transport financial records and supplies.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
