Thrive Education Partners Private Educator
- Miami Beach, FL Full-Time Homeschool Educator
- Rising 6th Grade Girl
- Starting Late August/Early September 2026
Thrive is matching a family in Miami Beach with a full-time private educator for their daughter, a rising 6th grader. This is not a remediation role – she's a strong student who is observant, intelligent, and a genuinely great listener. She makes good grades, has friends, and by every academic measure is doing well. The family is looking for a teacher who can facilitate a rich, well‑rounded homeschool curriculum while helping her grow into a kind, healthy, grounded, and compassionate young woman.
The family previously enrolled their daughter in a private school that the mother ultimately felt wasn't meeting her expectations, so she started her own school. That school served the family well for a time, but social pressures from peers – a "mean girls" dynamic – have made the environment unhealthy for her daughter. Social media and technology have also played a role, and the family has already done a digital detox to address it.
They are now moving to a homeschool model with a dedicated private educator, supported by Thrive's Education Management team for curriculum selection, instructional coaching, extracurricular planning, assessments, progress monitoring, and portfolio/record‑keeping. This is an elite‑lifestyle family that splits significant time between Miami Beach and their home in New York City, and the educator should expect to travel with the family, sometimes on relatively short notice.
Travel expenses are covered by the family, and time off is provided when the educator isn't actively leading instruction during travel.
- Experience teaching or homeschooling upper elementary/middle school students, ideally with bright, socially perceptive girls
- Comfortable serving as a values‑forward mentor, not just an academic instructor
- Confident facilitating a curriculum designed in partnership with Thrive's Education Management team, rather than building one from scratch alone
- Warm, emotionally intelligent, and attuned to the social dynamics of pre‑teen girls (mean‑girl culture, social media pressure, friendship dynamics)
- Comfortable in a Christian household and able to authentically support the family's faith‑based approach to spiritual development
- Physically fit and genuinely health‑minded, with a lifestyle aligned to a family that is highly intentional about wellness and healthy habits
- Professional and polished enough to represent the family well while traveling, but personable and youthful in energy
- Flexible and travel‑ready, including on short notice, with no major obstacles to being away from home for extended periods
- Facilitate core academic subjects (math, reading/writing/ELA, science, social studies) using curriculum selected in partnership with Thrive's Education Management team
- Willingness and ability to adapt and tailor curriculum as needed, working closely with Thrive's Education Manager
- Work closely with Thrive's instructional coaching support to continually refine teaching approach
- Support extracurricular selection and participation alongside the family and Thrive
- Administer assessments and progress monitoring as coordinated with Thrive
- Maintain records and build a portfolio of the student's work and progress over time
- Adapt instruction to a highly intelligent, observant student who is already a strong independent thinker
- Reinforce kindness, compassion, and strong character values in daily interactions, not just formal lessons
- Support the family's Christian faith and help integrate age‑appropriate spiritual development into the homeschool rhythm
- Model and encourage healthy life choices and habits, consistent with the family's strong focus on health, wellness, and nutrition
- Help the student navigate healthy friendships and social dynamics, especially in light of recent peer pressure and social media challenges
- Reinforce the family's digital detox and support a healthy, balanced relationship with technology going forward
- Travel is at the family's discretion and may include their NYC home and other destinations, sometimes with relatively short notice
- Comfortable with a schedule that shifts around the family's travel calendar
- Travel expenses covered by the family; time off provided while traveling when not actively leading instruction
