Construction Manager

Highly responsible administrative, supervisory, and professional engineering work in the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operation of a variety of Public Works functions.

• Supervisespersonnelin the Construction Management team, with proven leadership skills andabilitytodelegatework.
• Hasathoroughknowledgeandunderstandingofconstructionmethods,safetyandbuildingcodes, contractsandblueprints.
• Interfaces and collaborates effectively with the design, construction and regulatoryentities tominimizedelays,emergenciesorotherissues,andtopromote timelyconstructionoftheprojects.
• Isabletoestimateworkeffort,timeandresourcesneededtoexecuteaconstructionjob.
• Plans workfortheteam;manages schedules, resource allocations, ensures project remain withinbudgetandonschedule
• Thoroughknowledgeofengineeringdesign,construction,andregulatoryrequirements
• Instructs,trains,andsupervisespersonnelinallaspectsofpublicworksengineering
• Reviewsplanspreparedbythe State Road Departmentandthe County Public Works Departmentforhighwaysandotherfacilitieswithinthe Cityandcoordinatescityworkwiththeseagencies
• Reviews,evaluates,andreportson
  
  City construction,engineering,orutilityserviceoperations
• Recommendstechnicalstandardsforinclusioninspecificationsforpublicworksconstruction
• Providesstrategicplanninglevelanddetaileddesigninput
• Performsrelatedworkasrequired
• Performs the duties of a Project Engineer and a Principal Engineer, when required

• Communicatesclearly,concisely,andcomprehensiblyinbothwrittenandverbalformat
• Minimumof four years'experienceinthefunctional areaindividualis managing(i.e.Engineering Design, Construction Management,or Regulatory Compliance)
  Registered as a Professional Engineerbythe Stateof Florida
• Thoroughknowledgeoftheprinciples and practices of engineering,surveying,design,construction,maintenance,and operationor major Public Works projects and facilities such as:roads,bridges,water,sewer,drainage works,traffic,andcoastalprotectionfacilities
• Thoroughknowledgeoftheprinciplesandpracticesofengineeringsurveys
• Considerableknowledgeoflawsandregulationsapplicabletodesign andconstructionof
  
  Public Works projects
• Abilitytoinstruct,train,andsupervisepersonnelinallaspectsof
  
  Public Works engineering
• Capableofsigning and sealing engineering drawings and documentsin accordance with the rulesofthe
  
  Florida Boardof Professional Engineer sand Florida Statute
  61G15-23
• Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management of roads, water, sewer and stormwater systems.
