About the RoleA luxury beachfront hotel in Miami Beach is seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to oversee all engineering operations, maintenance programs, building systems, and facility appearance. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for maintaining a safe, efficient, and well‑maintained property while leading a team of engineering professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the operation and maintenance of all hotel equipment, systems, and facilities.
- Manage preventive maintenance programs, inspections, work orders, and daily engineering operations.
- Supervise, train, coach, and evaluate engineering team members.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, fire safety, and health regulations.
- Coordinate vendors, contractors, and capital improvement projects.
- Oversee maintenance of guest rooms, public areas, meeting rooms, landscaping, and pool facilities.
- Support energy conservation and sustainability initiatives.
- Partner with hotel leadership to ensure exceptional guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
- Minimum 5 years of hotel engineering or building maintenance experience with supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
- Strong leadership, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Hospitality industry experience strongly preferred.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, or push up to 80 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights when necessary.
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions.
