The Eye Care Advisor creates exceptional value in the lives of our customers by delivering the For Eyes Experience. Ensures all patients receive the highest quality Optometric care. Supports the Doctor in the routine practice of Optometry under the general direction of the Store Manager and within state law and For Eyes policies.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Greets customers promptly (within 30 seconds).
- Answers the telephone promptly and courteously (3 rings).
- Explains required paperwork, tests, products and services in the Doctor's office, including appropriate time frames.
- Reviews prescriptions and patient information carefully; identifies special needs and consults with Optician, Managing Doctor or Retail Management when necessary.
- Demonstrates patience and courtesy to all customers and patients.
- Performs work accurately and thoroughly under time pressure and high volume.
- Identifies unsatisfied customers and acts quickly to resolve issues.
- Manages appointment book/scheduling procedures and computer operations.
- Maintains patient records in an organized and HIPAA-compliant manner.
- Places contact lens orders, processes shipments and submits invoices for payment.
- Operates the POS system with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Maintains store appearance and ensures visual displays follow company guidelines.
- Maintains a safe environment for associates and patients.
- Responds quickly to changes in store promotions and communicates to staff with relevant materials.
- Demonstrates product knowledge and describes features and benefits of lenses and frames.
- Assists customers in selecting frames and lenses that suit vision, lifestyle and budget.
- Performs pre-examination testing accurately and explains measurements to patients.
- Provides coaching on care and handling of contact lenses using clinical knowledge.
- Maintains and disinfects contact lens inventory and supports the Optometrist as needed.
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Strong customer service skills (internal and external)
- Knowledge of current fashion trends

- Familiarity with cash register, computers and calculators
- Organizational skills
- Sales skills
- Strong basic math skills
- Knowledge of office and store merchandise
- Previous experience in customer service, retail and/or optical
- Strong interpersonal skills
