Overview

The Production Manager serves as the logistical hub of all theatrical productions and special events, bridging artistic vision with operational execution. This role oversees budgets, schedules, crew hiring, and technical coordination to ensure each production or event is delivered on time, safely, and within budget—from concept to opening night.

Duties And Responsibilities Budget & Financial Oversight
  • Create, manage, and track production and event budgets.
  • Control costs while maintaining FAENA
    ’s luxury production standards.
  • Monitor expenditures, approve invoices, and ensure financial accountability across departments.
Scheduling & Production Planning
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive production schedules, including build timelines, rehearsals, load-in, tech, and strike.
  • Collaborate closely with the Stage Manager on daily show and event run-of-show schedules.
  • Ensure alignment between artistic milestones and technical readiness.
Hiring & Crew Management
  • Recruit, hire, and supervise technical staff, designers (lighting, scenic, costume), and production crew.
  • Lead cross-functional production meetings and ensure clear expectations and deliverables.
  • Foster a professional, collaborative, and safety-focused backstage culture.
Logistics & Technical Operations
  • Oversee venue logistics, including physical theater space management.
  • Coordinate equipment rentals, vendor relationships, and technical resources.
  • Supervise load-in, technical rehearsals, and load-out processes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational best practices.
Cross Departmental Coordination
  • Act as the central point of contact between artistic leadership, technical departments, designers, and Event Planners.
  • Translate creative concepts into actionable production plans.
  • Ensure lighting, sound, scenic elements, costumes, and special technical requirements are executed at the highest standard.
Problem-Solving & Execution
  • Proactively identify and resolve challenges, including equipment issues, scheduling conflicts, or resource constraints.
  • Make decisive operational adjustments to keep productions on track.
  • Maintain calm leadership under high-pressure live event environments.
