Job Title: Attendant
Location: City of Miami Beach
Pay Rate: $16.46 per hour
ResponsibilitiesBasic function:
Ensure that the appropriate number of cars is kept on location throughout the shift, that cars are parked appropriately, and the lot is kept clean and presentable.
- Direct incoming customers to available parking spaces.
- Count vehicles on location throughout shift, as needed.
- Write and issue violation warnings to tenants and visitors that violate garage policies.
- Patrol transient and reserved parking levels on foot or in customized motor carts, if applicable.
- Provide assistance to customers that have forgotten where they parked their vehicle.
- Be punctual and in uniform on all scheduled days.
- Courteously assist customers by answering questions; if necessary, direct them to the Facility Manager.
- Control traffic at entrances and exits as needed.
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of parking equipment and general maintenance tasks as directed.
- Report any accidents, violations of company policy, safety hazards, or unusual occurrences to the Facility Manager.
- Communicate debris, water, oil spills, etc. to the garage office.
- Substitute for valets when authorized.
- Have thorough knowledge of all areas of the garage and major streets, landmarks, and freeways in the area.
- Assist the Facility Manager with other duties as needed.
Education / Experience: Less than high school education or one month related experience, training, or equivalent combination.
License Requirement: Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record if required to drive a company vehicle.
Availability: Ability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift, week‑ends, as needed.
Language: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; present information one‑on‑one.
Mathematics: Ability to add, subtract, and multiply/divide two‑digit numbers and 10’s/100’s, and perform these operations using units of American money.
Appearance: Maintain neat, clean appearance and be in complete uniform at all times.
Physical Demands: Stand, walk, use hands to handle cash and equipment; occasionally sit, climb, balance, lift or move up to 25 pounds.
