Hotel Valet Cashier - Standard Miami

Overview

The Cashier is responsible for accurately collecting and reconciling revenue while providing exceptional hospitality services to all guests in a friendly and efficient manner.

• Maintain a pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with all guests, co‑workers and clients. Acknowledge and greet guests immediately while using appropriate salutations and last names when appropriate. Treat guests and associates with courtesy, respect and dignity.
• Maintain accuracy and composure under pressure. Use proper Towne Park phone etiquette and greet guests on arrival.
• Assist guests with directions and inquiries. Provide information about outlets, meeting rooms and amenities of the facility, as well as local attractions.
• Determine guest charges and process payments via cash, credit, or direct billing. Accurately categorize tickets for audit purposes. Collect and reconcile revenue and furnish payment receipts.
• Complete accurate and timely shift reports. Follow standard operating procedures related to cash banks. Operate equipment including registers, gates, and credit card machines. Obtain information about daily events and rates to be charged.
• Complete all tasks in a timely manner as instructed by the Lead Cashier/Account Manager.

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Work Experience:
  
  One to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge:
  Basic math skills; ability to read and write English; ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; ability to present information one-on-one and in small groups; ability to perform arithmetic operations using dollars.
• Additional Abilities:
  Understand 24-hour and military time systems; understand rates applicable to time passed.

• Authority to Act:
  Follows established practices and procedures with work checked or verified regularly; decisions made within operational instructions and departmental guidelines.
• Budget Responsibility:
  Limited to resources available to self.

The job may require extended periods of standing, sitting, and occasional running. Duties include talking, hearing, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds frequently, and occasional handling of objects. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and focus adjustment.

Travel of up to 5% may be required.
