The Jewish Museum of Florida (JMOF) seeks a dynamic, collaborative, and highly organized Associate Executive Director & Impact Officer to help lead the museum through an exciting new chapter of institutional transformation and growth.

At a pivotal moment of growth and renewed visibility, the Museum offers the successful candidate the chance to make a lasting impact by expanding audiences, deepening cultural relevance, and elevating the Museum’s role as a leading center for Jewish storytelling, scholarship, and public engagement.

This newly re-envisioned full-time leadership role will oversee day-to-day operations, drive strategic initiatives, strengthen internal communication, and support organizational effectiveness across all areas of the museum. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Associate Executive Director & Impact officer will serve as a key operational and strategic partner, helping translate vision into execution while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.

As JMOF re-establishes itself as an independent nonprofit institution, the museum is redefining how cultural organizations can serve as platforms for civic engagement, education, dialogue, and social impact. The Associate Executive Director will play a central role in shaping this next generation of leadership and institutional culture.

Museums have long preserved the stories of the past through objects, archives, and scholarship. Today, cultural institutions are also being called upon to help communities navigate contemporary challenges and imagine more engaged futures. JMOF embraces this expanded role, positioning the museum as a trusted civic and cultural institution that inspires understanding, action, and hope through the lens of the Jewish experience in Florida and beyond.

The ideal candidate will combine operational expertise with entrepreneurial thinking, collaborative leadership, emotional intelligence, and a deep commitment to organizational excellence and community engagement.

The Jewish Museum of Florida opened in Miami Beach in 1995, evolving from “Mosaic,” a traveling exhibition documenting Jewish history throughout Florida. The museum is housed within the historic former Beth Jacob Synagogue campus, including the first synagogue on Miami Beach, located in a neighborhood once shaped by discriminatory housing restrictions against Jewish and Black residents. The property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

In 2012, the museum was gifted to Florida International University. Beginning August 1, 2026, the museum, its collections, historic campus, and remaining endowment assets will transition back to the original nonprofit entity, Jewish Museum of Florida, Inc., marking the beginning of a new era of independent leadership and institutional growth.

The next generation of JMOF will build upon its nationally accredited legacy while embracing innovation, digital accessibility, civic dialogue, and statewide community engagement. The museum seeks to expand public participation, deepen educational impact, and foster greater cross-cultural understanding through exhibitions, scholarship, and storytelling rooted in the Florida Jewish experience.
