Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our residential behavioral health program near Palm Springs, CA. This role is primarily psychiatric, working within a detox/residential program in Cathedral City, with occasional medical support as appropriate. Candidates must have strong substance abuse experience and be comfortable working with dual-diagnosis patients. Providers with a Psych NP, dual Psych/FNP, or PA background are encouraged to apply—must be willing to manage both psychiatric and medical needs as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and ongoing medication management for residential and detox patients.
- Support medical needs within scope, especially for dual-diagnosis and SA-related conditions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Participate in care planning, treatment team meetings, and continuity-of-care efforts.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Psych NP, Psych/FNP, or Physician Assistant in the state of California.
- Experience required—must have a background working with substance abuse populations.
- Comfortable treating both psychiatric and medical issues in a residential treatment setting.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
