Position Details
Sales Clerk Leader – $16.80/hour – Miami Beach, FL
Pay Plan/Series/Pay Band: NF-2091-02
Full-Time (30–40 hours/week)
Responsibilities- Welcome customers, maintain product knowledge, and assist with merchandise selection.
- Provide outstanding customer service and resolve customer concerns promptly.
- Oversee operations of the sale department, including ordering merchandise, receiving, pricing, and monitoring stock levels.
- Implement price changes, markdowns, promotional sets, and signage in coordination with store management.
- Communicate with HQ staff regarding special order requests and merchandise issues.
- Assist store management in training employees on cash register and front-end duties and contribute to employee evaluations.
- Operate the cash register, accept cash, checks, credit cards, prepare change, collect receipts, and reconcile daily activity.
- Maintain cash overage and shortage records, ensuring control and security of change fund, safe, and cash registers.
- Key carrier for store opening and closing.
- Direct or supervise employees and assume overall store responsibility in management absence.
- Follow Loss Prevention policies and be proactive regarding shrink and the Alert Line.
- Adhere to safety standards and emergency preparedness requirements.
- Work weekends as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Minimum:
Prior retail experience in inventory control and sales; ability to routinely lift 10 lbs and occasionally 25 lbs and stand for long periods. - Preferred:
Experience operating a cash register and knowledge of sales inventory. - Preferred:
Prior retail supervisory experience performing the above duties. - Preferred:
Current USCG NAF sales clerk with at least 6 months experience.
- Residency:
Must have resided in the U.S. or territories for at least 3 of the past 5 years. - Selective Service:
Males born after 12/31/59 and 18+ years must be registered unless exempt. - Background check and other pre-employment requirements as applicable.
