Summary
Position maintains a balance of proactive & reactive selling, growth of key accounts, and sales team development while acting as strategic sales & revenue leader. Goals focus on hotel room revenue, group bookings, food & beverage contribution, market share, and sales training. Works directly with the Director of Sales & Marketing and General Manager to create vision, understand market mix, and align systems for revenue maximization.
EssentialDuties And Responsibilities
- Achieve 100% of group sales revenue goals through individual and team efforts.
- Continuously assess strengths and challenges of sales team members.
- Provide coaching, mentoring and training to the sales team.
- Incorporate marketing initiatives to support group sales strategies and activities.
- Establish a sense of urgency to meet hotel needs.
- Know competitor set and recommend sales/pricing strategies and service improvements.
- Carry food & beverage contribution goals and collaborate with DOC to achieve revenue targets.
- Consistently review shifts in market mix with DORM & DOSM and make deployment & pricing recommendations.
- Stay atop industry trends.
- Work with National Sales Team to communicate specific account needs and impact revenues for the hotels.
- Identify key group markets and support deployment and travel schedule strategies.
- Develop sales skills of the team through implementation, coordination, and maintenance of weekly training.
- Ensure team achievement of Shop Talk results.
- Present successes and opportunities to DOSM, General Manager, and ownership.
- Report on group pace and future group needs.
- Complete and communicate monthly group sales results to DOSM.
- Assist in developing appropriate group production goals.
- Participate actively in weekly yield meetings.
- Analyze industry intelligence reports (e.g., STR, Hotelligence).
- Conduct FJP reviews and weekly meetings with the sales team to ensure appropriate direction.
- Maintain accurate and thorough notes/traces of accounts via Delphi.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1 to 3 years of hotel sales experience.
- Strong selling skills.
- Ability to inspire, lead, and manage a team by example.
- Act as owner of the hotel, communicating clear strategy and purpose.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Well organized, detail oriented with excellent follow‑up.
- Excellent internal and external communication skills.
- Ability to convert vision into tangible actions for the hotel.

- Education and/or experience: 1 to 3 years of sales experience;
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Language skills:
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with business departments, guests, and vendors. - Physical demands:
Requires use of keyboard, sitting, standing, and occasional lifting of up to 75 lbs. - Mental demands:
Produces detailed work, uses reasoning and verbal and written communication, handles multiple concurrent tasks, sometimes gives presentations. - Work environment:
May encounter heat, odor, fumes, dampness, dirt, grease, noise, vibrations, and use of tools/equipment.
