Head Start Program Preschool Teacher Assistant

• Colonel Zubkoff Center, 55 NW 199th Street, Miami, FL 33169
• Intergenerational Center, 3450 NW 199th Street, Miami Gardens, FL 33056

Daytime, Monday thru Friday, 40 hours per week, 7:30am to 4:00pm

$17.91 per hour

FCCPC Birth-Five or CDA Preschool certification required, or an Associate in Early Childhood

• Assist Head Start classroom teachers in the care and development of children enrolled in an early childhood education center and maintain the classroom.
• Assist in planning and teaching activities within the YWCA's developmentally appropriate framework to encourage children's cognitive, social/emotional, physical and creative skills.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDA/FCCPC childcare certification required. Associate's in Early Childhood Education a definite plus.
• One or two years of experience working with preschool children in a child care facility preferred, preferably in a Head Start program.
• DCF Child Care 45-hour childcare training, additional VPK courses and 15 hours of continuing education each year thereafter. YWCA reserves the right to increase training hours annually.
• Red Cross First Aid certificate; certificate of good health and completed TB test.
• Required to have fingerprint and background check level 2, and drug test.
• FCCPC Birth-Five or CDA certification in Preschool required.
• DCF 45-hour training certificates required.
