Novo Health Services is seeking an experienced and results-driven Assistant Maintenance Manager to support the maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement of our production equipment, utilities, and facility systems. This leadership role partners closely with the Chief Engineer to ensure maximum equipment uptime, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and a safe working environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with strong experience in industrial maintenance, engineering, and team development within a manufacturing, healthcare, pharmaceutical, textile, laundry, or processing environment.
Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Equipment Reliability- Assist the Chief Engineer in overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operation of all production equipment, facility systems, and utilities.
- Coordinate and manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation-related equipment issues.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, throughput, and overall productivity.
- Support emergency maintenance activities and provide technical expertise during equipment failures and operational disruptions.
- Supervise, mentor, and support maintenance technicians, contractors, and service providers.
- Ensure timely completion of work orders and maintenance projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Assist with employee training related to equipment operation, maintenance procedures, safety practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental standards, safety requirements, and company policies.
- Promote a strong safety culture through active participation in safety programs, audits, and corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment histories, work orders, spare parts inventories, and technical documentation.
- Assist in developing, updating, and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintenance best practices.
- Support capital improvement projects from planning through implementation.
- Assist in managing maintenance budgets, vendor relationships, contractor activities, and procurement processes.
- Participate in facility improvement initiatives, sustainability programs, and energy-efficiency projects.
- Collaborate with Operations, Production, Quality, and Leadership teams to drive continuous improvement and support business objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent experience will also be considered.
- 5-10 years of progressive maintenance, engineering, or reliability experience in an industrial manufacturing, healthcare, pharmaceutical, textile, laundry, medical device, or processing environment.
